Long Range Acoustic Device – LRAD & Genasys Protect

LRAD and Genasys Protect provide either a highly focused or area broadcast capability that remains intelligible at range and can overcome background noise. The larger LRAD systems have a range out to 5km. Leafield Logistics & Technical Services Limited is the UK sole distributor and can provide advice and arrange demonstrations at the customers sites or at our own location. The LRAD system is manufactured to work in extreme environments and is in service: on all US combatant ships and 25 other navies’ vessels, in the US and other Armies, a large number of police forces and civil defence organisations. It is being operated in over 200 countries.

Emergency Services

LRAD can be deployed on foot, on vehicles or be tripod mounted. Its uses are many, including: crowd control, hostage negotiations, shooter situations, search & rescue, and incident management. Its alarm mode can be used to help defuse situation before the need for physical intervention.

Army

LRAD characteristics and variety of configurations makes it ideal for use in support of Psychological Operations, Military Police tasks, convoy control, and Expeditionary Campaign Infrastructure support.

Maritime

LRAD was first developed for the maritime environment as a result of lessons from the USS Cole. It allows potential threats to be communicated with at range and warnings given. It can be operated remotely from below deck and has configurations with cameras and high powered lights. As well as Naval vessels, it is suitable for fitting to standard merchant ships, Police Patrol Boats, Border Force and Customs craft, and super yachts, both for general communication and anti-piracy functionality.

Public Broadcasting

The Genasys Protect systems provide a class beating public address capability. They are configurable and can be used for: national critical infrastructure security, urban emergency broadcasting, disaster recovery, sports stadiums, railway stations, offshore facilities, shipping and air terminals, marinas, and University and Schools safety, warning and mass notification messages. The system can be fitted across a wide area and messages broadcast across the system, in sectors, or in specific directions. All of this can be controlled from a central station or even from our bespoke mobile app.
